St Helens has a number of interesting cultural attractions to explore, including the North West Museum of Road Transport. Peer into a universe of interesting exhibits at the World of Glass, and support the town’s famous rugby league team at one of their home games. You could throw a ball around yourself at Taylor Park, although the kids’ playgrounds, cafe and lakeside walks should provide plenty of entertainment anyway.
There are lots more natural spaces to enjoy in the surrounding area, including Clock Face Country Park, Colliers Moss Common and the Duckeries. Go walking along Carr Mill Damn and up Billinge Hill for lots of wonderful views, visit Siding Lane Nature Reserve and take the kids to the conservation-orientated Knowsley Safari Park.
