  • East Cowes is dissected by the A3021, which heads south towards Newport. You can reach the Isle of Wight’s county town in around 15 minutes, while it’s around 25 minutes to get all the way round to Cowes. There’s no bridge across the River Medina, although there is a chain ferry you can use to traverse the water either by car or on foot. You can also catch a ferry from East Cowes across the Solent to Southampton on the south coast of England.  

  • The local primary school in East Cowes is Holy Cross Catholic Primary, while Queensgate Foundation Primary is in the south of town. Both of these schools are rated as good by Ofsted, along with Cowes Primary, Lanesend Primary and Gurnard Primary across the river. Cowes Enterprise College is also the other side of the river, with the all-through independent Priory School another local option close to the centre of East Cowes.
