Things to see and do

The town is home to Radstock Museum, located in the old town hall, which has lots of hands-on exhibits perfect for keeping the kids entertained. Radstock’s theatre and arts venue Victoria Hall hosts performances throughout the year, including live music, dance and comedy.

If you enjoy getting active, Writhlington Sports and Leisure Centre has facilities including squash, swimming and soft play, while you can practice your swing at Farrington Golf and Country Club just a short drive away.

For families, there are lots of great days out in or near to Radstock including the Walled Garden at Mells, Cowtastic Farm Park and Playbarn, Bath City Farm and Nunney Castle. The city of Bath is also home to the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, Bath Racecourse and Victoria Falls Adventure Golf. 

If you want to get out and about in the great British countryside, the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are both within driving distance of Radstock. 

Education

For families moving to Radstock, schools will be one of the most important considerations for the big move. There are a number of excellent schools in the local area, including Paulton Junior School, St Vigor and St John CofE School, St Julian’s Church School, High Littleton CofE VC Primary School, Saint Gregory's Catholic College and Beechen Cliff School, all of which are rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted.

If your children are older, they may be considering studying for a degree. The University of Bath and Bath Spa University are both within commuting distance of Radstock, while the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England are also close to the town.  

Getting to Radstock

Although there’s no train station in Radstock, the town is well-connected to neighbouring towns and cities by road. The journey to Radstock from Bath takes around 20 minutes by car, while the drive from Bristol takes 40 minutes. Weston-super-Mare is a 55 minute drive away, while the journey to Salisbury takes one hour. 

If you’re travelling to London, the car journey takes two hours 30 minutes from Radstock, but the train from Bath is quicker with a journey time of just one hour 30 minutes. When it’s time to get away from it all with a well-earned holiday, Bristol Airport is under 40 minutes away by car.
