Things to see and do

With Hessle’s excellent location, just outside Hull city centre, you’ll find a variety of child-friendly activities, offering fun for all the family. Enjoy a day out at the interactive dinosaur museum Dinostar, head down into the Deep to learn all about the sea or go Junior Quad Bike driving. If something a little more cultural takes your fancy you can visit one of the area’s many museums including Hull Maritime Museum, Baysgarth House Museum, or Streetlife Museum of Transport.

The Humber Bridge Country Park is in Hessle and is the perfect place to spend a day in the great outdoors. The 48-acre wood has open meadows (home to wild flowers and butterflies) and a wildlife pond and is in the site of a former chalk quarry; the white cliffs that surround it is why you’ll hear locals refer to it as Little Switzerland.

Other places of interest in the local area include the Humber Bridge, Hull Marina and St. Peter’s Church.
