Everyone knows about the University of Cambridge, one of the most famous in the world, but you might not know there are plenty of good schools for younger children in the area too. They include Histon and Impington Junior School, which is a few miles north of the city centre and rated as outstanding by Ofsted.
At secondary level, Comberton Village College is also outstanding according to the education board. It’s five miles outside the city though, so if you live centrally you may be better positioned for the Chesterton Community College catchment area, with this mixed secondary also rated as outstanding.

As well as the usual buses and train stop on Station Road, Cambridge City Council also encourages walking, cycle hire and its park and ride services, as well as a punt down the river.
