Evenings and weekends
History and culture
You haven't got to look far for history and culture. On the actual development there is a historic World War II pill box, with works undertaken to ensure the long term upkeep. Maidstone itself has a colourful history and plenty of hidden delights with the All Saints Church, Corpus Christi Hall, Maidstone Town Hall, the carriage Museum, Maidstone Museum and Bentlif Art Gallery.
There are also many historic sites like The Friars, Kent Life, Kits Coty and the beautiful Leeds Castle.
Maidstone is well known for its retail joys with a fantastic high street, Fremlin Walk which offers an open air shopping centre experience and the McArthur Glen Ashford designer outlet not too far for ultimate shopping indulgence.
Great nights out on your doorstep, with the Hazlitt Theatre, a regular host of some of UK's best touring plays as well as comedy, music and dance shows plus restaurants and bars in the town centre.
Health and fitness
Velocity Maidstone Gym and a number of gyms in town provide a great base for keeping fit, you can walk or cycle through local parks like Mote Park or play tennis or golf, all nearby.
Maidstone borough also supports cycling in Kent, with the introduction of the 'bikeability' club. The club offers training courses if you are interested in improving your child's cycling safety skills.
