Rebecca Elliot and Lee Ballantyne enjoyed a “whirlwind” buying experience when they secured the purchase of their first home together at Barratt Homes’ Craig Brae development in Motherwell.

Here, 24 year old Rebecca reflects on her journey with the five star housebuilder:

“I’m originally from New Stevenson which is just up the road from Craig Brae so I have had my eye on the housing developers in the area.

“One morning before Christmas I decided that was the day I was going to buy our house. And after seeing the three-bedroom Esslemont, I knew that was the one so I registered my details with the team and that was it. We found our mortgage just before Christmas and we moved in the following March.

“It was so simple and we got so much as standard. It was nothing like what any of the other local housebuilders were offering. All the rooms were painted, fencing was up in the garden, the lawn was laid and we even got our first grass cut as part of the package. People don’t move into their first house and think I must get a new lawnmower. It was the little things like that which were really thoughtful and practical.”

Carer Rebecca and off-shore worker Lee (aged 33) paid £179,995 for their stunning new three bedroom home.
