Things to see and do

Located close to Glastonbury, your new house in Street is close to Glastonbury Tor and Glastonbury Abbey, along with the world-famous Glastonbury Festival at Worthy Farm in Pilton. There are lots of outdoor attractions to explore nearby, including Wookey Hole Caves, Cheddar Caves and Gorge, and the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

If you enjoy getting active, you can go swimming at the heated lido at Greenbank, try out some sports at Wells Leisure Centre or get the adrenaline pumping with water sports at Middlemoor Water Park. Other places of interest nearby include the Fleet Air Arm Museum in Ilchester, Wells Cathedral, the Mendips Raceway and Montacute House.

For a spot of retail therapy, the many high street, designer and independent shops in Bath are close enough for a day trip, while Clarks Village in Street itself is also popular.

Education

If you are moving to Street with school-age children, there are plenty of excellent schools to choose from in the local area. Walton Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School and Meare Village Primary School are both rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted, while Millfield School and Wells Cathedral School offer independent education.

For older children thinking of studying for a degree without travelling far from home, Street is within commuting distance of the University of Bath and the University of Bristol.
