Transport links

Set in the beautiful county of Leicestershire, the surrounding villages and countryside are easily reached from the city.

Leicester Railway Station is situated right in the city centre and connects you to the rest of the UK, with journeys to London taking just 62 minutes on a fast, direct train. To reach other corners of the globe, the nearest airports to Leicester are East Midlands Airport and Birmingham Airport.

For motorists, access to the city is very easy with the M1, junctions 21 or 22 providing access. Those travelling from BirminghamWales and the South West can gain access via the M6 and M69.

Education

Leicester is a great place to live, especially for those with families, due to the abundance of education establishments within the area.

Those with smaller are children are well catered for with many primary schools close by, some of the better performing ones include Orchard CofE Primary School, Taylor Road Primary School and Abbey Primary Community School.

Older children also have a wealth of high schools to choose from, including Saint Paul’s Catholic School, Rushey Mead School and Madani Girls’ School. There are also a number of colleges for higher education such as The Beauchamp College, New College Leicester and The City of Leicester College. The University of Leicester also provides a wealth of different courses for those looking to further their education.
