Education
If you’re moving to Duston with school-age children, there are lots of good schools to choose from including St Luke’s Church of England Primary School, Millway Primary School and Abbeyfield School. Northampton School for Boys and Northampton School for Girls are both rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted, while Quinton House School offers private education.
For older children who want to study for a degree without venturing far from home, the University of Northampton is only a short bus or car journey away from Duston. The town is also home to Northampton College.
Getting to Duston
Located on the edge of Northampton, Duston is only a 10-minute car journey from the town centre, ideal if you’re travelling for work. From Milton Keynes, the journey to Duston takes around 30 minutes, while the journey from Birmingham takes around one hour 10 minutes by car.
From London, you can get to Duston in one hour 45 minutes by car, or one hour by direct train to Northampton station. When you want to go on holiday, the journey to London Luton Airport takes just 50 minutes, and the journey to Birmingham around one hour, so there’s plenty of choice for your next trip abroad.
