Things to see and do in Tongham

This is a wonderful place to live if you’d like to be surrounded by open countryside, yet retain superb links to some of the region’s hubs for business and culture. Hankley Common and Thursley National Nature Reserve are just to the south of the village, perfect for relaxing walks on your own or with your partner, children or dog.

With Tice’s Meadow Nature Reserve and Brickfields Country Park also on the western edge of the village, the centre of Aldershot is within walking distance from Tongham. And when you want to go for a day or night out in London, the capital is under an hours’ train ride away.

Education

Tongham’s local primary school is St Paul’s CofE Infant School and is rated as good by Ofsted. Meanwhile, Walsh Memorial CofE just north of the village in Ash is in the education board’s top bracket. The same goes for St Michael’s CofE and St Joseph’s Catholic Primary over in Aldershot, which both cater for children in Tongham. At secondary level, Ash Manor School is a good option not far from the centre of the village, while Farnham’s All Hallows Catholic School is rated outstanding.

Tongham transport links

Trains into London only take around 45 minutes to get from Aldershot to Waterloo station, making this a great place to live if you work in the capital. Tongham is also only a 10-minute drive along the A31 from Guildford, while it’s even less than that to get to junction 4 of the M3 motorway. You can use this to drive into London in around an hour, while it’s a similar journey time to reach Southampton on the south coast.

The Tongham property scene

Tongham has a thriving property scene, though it’s a small place and new homes aren’t in constant supply. Acting quickly when you see something you like is always advisable, so don’t hang around if you want to buy one of our new build apartments along Pennefathers Road a couple of miles from the centre of the village.
