The town is at the meeting point of four major A roads - the A56, A59, A65 and A629 - which you can use to easily get to places like Blackburn, Bradford, Harrogate and the Lake District. Leeds Bradford Airport, meanwhile, is less than 20 miles away.

Skipton has one primary school rated as outstanding in the heart of town, which is Water Street Community Primary. Greatwood Community Primary is just to the south east of the centre, which also has two outstanding secondaries. These are Skipton Girls’ High School and Ermysted’s Grammar School, which is for boys. Craven College, meanwhile, is rated as good by Ofsted and caters for 16-year-olds and over in the west of town.
