Live the life

With a rich history, lovely countryside and great attractions, Buckinghamshire is a great spot for a new home.

Within easy reach of London, it also has excellent transport links and good schools.

Things to see and do

Given that Buckinghamshire has several National Trust properties, meaning you’ll never be short of a day out.

Waddesdon Manor is a lovely renaissance-style chateau with 45 rooms and art gallery to browse, while Greys Court is set within the hills of the Chilterns. Claydon has lovely interiors produced in the eighteenth century, while West Wycombe Park frequently appears in period dramas, such as Downton Abbey.

Over a third of the county is covered by the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, meaning buying a new home in Buckinghamshire provides plenty of outdoor areas to explore.

With over 2,500 miles of public footpaths, there’s plenty of choice. You may like to explore national trails such as the Thames Path or the Ridgeway, part of the oldest road in Britain.

You may also spot Red Kites, whereas a visit to Bacombe Hill, lets you see orchids and butterflies. You can also take walks along the River Thames, or take to the water by hiring a rowing boat.

Fans of children’s author Roald Dahl can pay homage to the author at the Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery and on the Roald Dahl Trail. Aimed at 6 – 12 year olds, there are three interactive galleries here, which also feature his original writing hut.

Buckinghamshire is close to a number of key motorways. The M1, M40 and M25 all pass through, or are within easy reach, and provide links to the M3 and M4 motorways.
