  • Mearns Castle High School

Ideal if you live in South Glasgow, Mearns Castle is also rated among the top schools in the country. Lying along Waterfoot Road by the landmark which lends its name, the school is next door to Millennium Park and opens up to miles of beautiful open countryside. Back in the classroom, it’s one of Scotland’s highest-performing state secondaries when it comes to exam results, and usually passes inspections with flying colours.

  • St Ninian’s High School

Prioritising local primaries for admission yet accepting students from places such as Rutherglen and Cambuslang, St Ninian’s is another of the most popular high schools in Glasgow.
